Left our world at dawn this Wednesday morning, the great artist Mahmoud Yassin, aged 79, after a struggle with the disease that kept him out of artistic life for the past seven years.

His later periods saw rumors of his death spread successively, and his family always aggressively dealt with these rumors until he passed away.

Mahmoud Yassin’s journey with the disease started in 2014 when he was hiring the series “Sahib Al Saada” to present with leader Adel Imam, but surprisingly, “Yassin” left work after rehearsals.

In those days, the news became clear from within the series that the reason Mahmoud Yassin left work was his Alzheimer’s disease and his inability to memorize the text of the play.

In recent years, Yassin was no longer able to work and, at the same time, his family was unsure of the nature of his illness.

Last August, the artist, Shahira, Mahmoud Yassin’s wife, came out to reveal the evolution of her husband’s health, as she confirmed that his condition is somewhat stable.

The artist, Shahira, confirmed that she prevented the visit from the house due to the Corona virus, for a period of 5 months, explaining that she refused to enter Amr into the house.

Mahmoud Fouad Mahmoud Yassin was born in Port Said in 1941 and had been involved in theater since he was in high school.

He fulfilled his dream of entering the National Theater, in which he and other theaters performed dozens of outstanding works.

He had small film roles in the late sixties until his big break in the movie (We Do Not Grow Thorns) arrived.

The movies were shot after that, and among them were (The Thin Thread) versus Faten Hamama, (Nose and Three Eyes) versus Majida Al Sabahi, (Qaa Al Madina) versus Nadia Lotfi, (Mawlid Ya Dunya) versus singer Afaf Radi, and (Remember me) opposite Najla Fathi.

On television he presented dozens of series, including “The whirlpool”, “Tomorrow the flowers bloom”, “Memories of a husband”, “The second meeting”, “Brother of girls”, “Al Yaqeen” and “Disobedience” .

Old age gave him more space to play distinctive roles in film, in which he was alongside subsequent generations of stars, for which he participated in (Al-Jazeera) with Ahmed El-Sakka and (Al-Wa’d) with Asir Yassin and (Izbat Adam) with Ahmed Azmy, Majid Al-Kadwani and (Gedo Habibi) with Bushra and Ahmed Fahmy.
