Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, sent an important message to parents before the return of the academic process in schools and universities on October 17.
The minister said: “The school year has already started in international schools and my message is that children are the least affected group, but the group is the one with the most virus.”
He added: “I hope proper nutrition is taken care of and students are trained to apply precautionary measures and follow the correct method of sneezing and coughing, while washing hands, general hygiene and use of masks.”
The Minister of Health asked parents not to go to schools if a student presents any symptoms or high fever, while paying attention to the health of children in general and getting vaccinated on time.
This occurred at a press conference by the Minister of Health, as part of the activities on the second day of the meeting of the 67th session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, after yesterday he was unanimously elected by the committee as chair of the session that is held online for the first time online with the participation of ministers of health and high-level representatives of 22 A country in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, to discuss some health issues, especially the corona virus emergent, at the headquarters of the WHO Regional Office in Egypt.
The minister said that there is high-level coordination with the Ministry of Education, the return guide from schools has been completed and sent to the Ministry and training has been carried out for all workers in the educational process.
The minister recommended ventilation in schools and that precautionary measures be followed and taken into account, because those in charge of the educational process are the most exposed to risks.
