Mohamed Moselhy, President of the Alexandria Al-Ittihad Club, confirmed that there are 3 Egyptian coaches who are candidates to coach the team, succeeding Talaat Youssef, who submitted his resignation, among them Hossam Hassan, Smouha’s former coach.
“There are 3 coaches nominated to coach the Alexandria Federation, and they are all from Egypt, including Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan,” Moselhy said, speaking to the “Match” program on the “Echo of the Country” channel.
He added: “Within 72 hours, the new technical director will be announced.”
Miselhi continued to speak of Talaat Youssef, saying: “My testimony will be hurt as he is one of the sons of the team, hardworking and respected, and he appeared at a more than wonderful level in the first round and also in the Arab championship.”
He continued: “But in the second round there were crises such as the Corona pandemic, and with the return there were many player travel absences, injuries and suspensions, there were 12 players absent in the Zamalek match and we were subjected to extraordinary pressure.”
He concluded by saying: “Talaat Youssef asked to leave on more than one occasion, but I pressured him to continue, and now he decided to leave for good and insisted on that, so we agreed because at the end of the season there are only two games left and the league will end.”
The Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club Board of Directors announced acceptance of the apology presented by Talaat Youssef for not continuing his duties as the team’s technical director, with Munir Aqeelah appointed as the team’s temporary coach until the contract with a technical director.
It should be noted that Al-Ittihad of Alexandria has added 39 points in 32 games after not achieving any victory in the last ten games, taking its ranking to tenth place in the league table for the current 2019/2020 season, and leaving it with two matches against El Entag El Harby and Aswan.
