Mortada Mansour, President of Zamalek Club, thanked and greeted the players of the Al-Ahly football team for their performance against the Pyramids in the 33rd round of the Egyptian Premier League competition.
“I salute the Al-Ahly players for their manly and fair performance during the Pyramids match, despite the expulsion of Al-Sulaia and the loss of a penalty kick at the start of the match,” Mortada said during statements to the program Zamalakawi presented by Ahmed Gamal on the Zamalek channel.
He continued: “Despite the concerns of some of the Zamalek fans, I trusted the integrity of the Al-Ahly players and all popular Egyptian football clubs are honest.”
Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek Club, also announced that Tunisian Ferjani Sassi, the star of the club’s soccer team, had been infected with the Corona virus.
He continued: “Unfortunately Sassi suffers from Corona, but I am confident in the ability of the Zamalek stars to make up for his absence and win the African Champions League.”
Yesterday, Sunday, Tunisian press reports indicated that Sassi caught Corona during his participation with the Tunisian team in the friendly confrontation with Sudan.
Tunisian radio Jawhara FM confirmed that after undergoing medical tests, Ferjani Sassi and Hamza El-Khawi were confirmed with the coronavirus while they were in the camp of the Tunisian national team, which is currently established.
The Tunisian team defeated its Sudanese counterpart by 3 earned goals last Friday, without Ferjani Sassi participating in the match.
