The Football Association gives Al-Ahly a solution for Ahmed Fathi’s participation in the final of the African Champions League

Walid Al-Attar, executive director of the Egyptian Football Association, confirmed that Al-Ahly can involve Ahmed Fathy, as well as Zamalek, with Hazem Imam, if they reach the final of the CAF Champions League.

A crisis had erupted over the possibility that Ahmed Fathy would not be able to participate in the final match of the African Champions League should Al-Ahly qualify, especially since his contract with the Red Castle expires at the end of the present season.

While Hazem Imam’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and so far he has not renewed his contract.

The Football Association set registration dates for the new season, from October 10 to November 4, which generated a crisis due to the non-participation of Ahmed Fathy with Al-Ahly or Hazem Imam with Zamalek if they reached the final of the African Champions League, which will be played on November 4.

While the registration in the additional lists will be open until November 19, as for the second period of registration and registration, “winter transfers”, between February 15 and March 15.

Al-Attar confirmed that the Football Association will extend the registration period for Al-Ahly and Zamalek as soon as they reach the final match, as they will be excluded from registration in the first period.

Reports had indicated that Ahmed Fathi wanted to stay at the Red Castle and not activate his contract with Pyramids, but Pyramids officials denied these reports, confirming that Fathi would be joining the team from next season.
