The Football Association may consider canceling the idea of the five substitutions and one minute of rest in next season’s league games, according to Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Football Association, to FIlGoal.com.
Al-Attar told FIlGoal.com: “We will announce the terms of the Premier League competition after the end of the current league, which will end at the end of this month.”
On some details, he added: “The idea of the 5 changes and the minute of rest came because the competition was suspended for a long time due to the Corona virus, as it happened in all leagues.”
He added: “Therefore, we may consider canceling this order and returning to normal procedures with the start of the current season.”
He explained: “The five minutes and comfortable substitutions were optional, and the International Federation left the freedom to choose each federation and was not binding.”
The Spanish, Italian and German League continued to rely on the five-substitution system, while the English Premier League reverted to the three-substitution system in the new season.
