An Italian press report confirmed that Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was the first player to break Juventus’ quarantine and forced isolation rules last weekend.
Juventus was subjected to sanitary isolation in a hotel near the training center, after two employees tested positive for coronavirus last Saturday.
According to the Italian newspaper “La Gazzetta dello Sport”, Ronaldo did not agree to stay at the hotel for several days, because that would have prevented him from playing Portugal’s friendly against Spain (0-0).
Ronaldo and the rest of his teammates had already taken two negative tests, but according to the protocol of the Italian federation, they needed another test in the following days to allow them to leave the hotel.
The newspaper noted that Ronaldo raised his voice in front of the club’s managers and teammates, and decided to leave the dressing room at the “Allianz Stadium”, where the team arrived on Sunday night to face Napoli, who did not attend the game.
Ronaldo returned home before traveling to Portugal to join his country the next day.
And Ronaldo was not the only player who broke the isolation, but he was followed by the Argentine Paulo Dybala, the Colombian Cuadrado, the Brazilian Daniilo, the Uruguayan Rodrigo, Bentancur and the Turkish Merre Demiral, in his incorporation to their national teams, while Buffon returned to home.
Upon winning, Juventus notifies the members of the local health authority, who will notify the Public Ministry of the names of the players who violated the rules.
The rest of the squad stayed in the hotel until Wednesday and when the isolation period ended, the players were able to return home.
