Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti won the Premier League coach award for September after leading the Tovees to victory in the first three games of the season.

Everton beat Tottenham, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

“I am very happy, it is a wonderful achievement. I have to share it with my team and their players,” Ancelotti said in his remarks to the Premier League website.

And he continued: “We started the season well and I hope we continue well and win the award again.”

The Italian coach continued: “The key to the season was the victory over Tottenham. We worked well in the transfer market and included players we needed and they adapted quickly.”

“Our goal now is to qualify for one of the European championships next season and stay in the lead for as long as possible,” completed the 61-year-old.

This is the fifth time that Ancelotti has won the award, after four times he won it with Chelsea, the last of which was in April 2011.

Ancelotti beat Liverpool’s Juergen Klopp, Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers and Aston Villa’s Dean Smith.

Everton forward Dominic Calvert Levine also won the Player of the Month award.

It is the first time the manager and the Everton player have won Premier League Awards of the Month together since February 2009, when defender Phil Jacelka and manager David Moyes won.
