United Group’s Extra News Channel management has temporarily suspended the channel’s broadcast, in preparation for its launch in a new and advanced way.
United announced that it has completed content development and studies for Extra News and released it on the anniversary of the October win in HD.
Eng. Hussam Saleh, United spokesman, stated that the board of directors headed by Professor Tamer Morsi decided to develop the channel and pay attention to news content and streamline the handling of issues, which required team development and clarity of image, as well as developing the studies and writing of the channel to graduate in a new format according to the distinguished news channel. Saleh added that Extra News is broadcasting on new frequencies, which are 12303 horizontal, for ultra-high definition viewing in HD, in addition to the vertical frequency of 11785 on the SD system.
A group of Extra News kids took over the development with their colleagues at United Channels, and this was overseen by Professor Albert Shafiq, Supervisor of News Content, and Professor Mohamed Helmy, Director of Extra News Channel.
The channel’s launch date has been set for October 6 at 2 p.m.
