Moroccan Chaib Skouk, assistant to former Swiss club Al-Ahly coach, revealed that he was surprised by the decision to leave Fyler from the Red Castle at the present time.

“Personal reasons made Rene Fyler leave Al-Ahly, but the decision surprised me,” Fyler’s assistant explained in remarks on Al-Nahar TV late Friday.

He continued: “The separation between Al-Ahly and Fyler surprises me, given the timing of the Moroccan Wydad Casablanca match, and I think the postponement of the African Champions League matches confused things between Al-Ahly and Fyler.”

And on Fyler’s leadership of the Pyramids team in the next term, he replied: “Fyler and the coaching staff were happy to be at Al-Ahly. Fyler wanted to continue at the club and I don’t think he leads Pyramids.”

Fyler stepped down from Al-Ahly’s leadership in the latest period after the Red Club led by Mahmoud Al-Khatib issued a statement announcing the termination of the Swiss contract.

The Al-Ahly administration, for its part, announced the appointment of South African Pitso Musimane to lead the red team, after he signed a contract that bound him to the club for two seasons.

It should be noted that Musimani’s first mission with Al-Ahly will be next Sunday against the Arab Contractors within the accounts of the 31st week of the Egyptian We League competition.
