The Sundowns are close to appointing a successor, Pitso Musimane, to technically lead the team.
Musimani came to Cairo to take over as Al-Ahly’s coach, on a two-year contract. (See details)
South African soccer website Soccer Ladoma said Sundowns will appoint Mankuba Mankithi as coach and Rolani Mokwena as assistant coach.
Betso Musimani had decided to seek the help of Prolani Mokwena in the Al-Ahly coaching staff, but the latter did not come with him to Cairo due to the lack of clarity of his future with Sundowns.

Musimane had won the CAF Champions League with Sundowns in 2016 at the expense of Zamalek.
Mosimane led the Sundowns in 2012, winning the League titles 5 times and a summer two, the Nedbank Cup twice and the Telkom Cup two, as well as winning the Champions League and the African Super Cup.
Musimane was named Coach of the Month 5 times in the South African League, as well as the best coach of the season 4 times and won the Best Coach of the Month award on the continent in 2016.
Al-Ahly prepares to face the Arab Contractors, next Sunday, in the 31st match of the Egyptian League.
