An official source revealed the backstage of the last hours of the assistant of the apparatus of the former Al-Ahly coach Rene Fyler, who had terminated the Red Club contract and had signed the South African coach Pesto Musimani to succeed him.
Al-Ahly previously announced that he had signed a contract with Musimane for two seasons and retained Belgian goalkeeping coach Michel Yanacon to officially confirm the duo’s departure, Thomas Bingley, the load coach, in addition to general coach David Seza.
The source, who declined to be named, said the duo, Bingelle and Siza, clung to the hope of staying at Al-Ahly until the last minute, after coach René Fyler moved alone in his negotiations with Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the president of the club.
The source added that Fyler’s assistants waited and did not request or initiate reservation of tickets to their country to find out the position of Al-Ahly, which was officially announced this Thursday morning.
According to the source, Siza and Bingelle completely separated their position from Fyler, while the coach booked the plane ticket individually and not through the club, so the coach left Cairo in the last minutes on Wednesday.
The source confirmed that Fyler had booked a one-way ticket to Switzerland, denying that the coach had booked a return ticket next Sunday.
The source concluded that there is no intention of using Siza and Bingelle in the youth sector and that their careers with the team are over, noting that the Al-Ahly club will help them finish the exit procedures.
Musimane’s auxiliary team includes: assistant coach Rolani Moccuena, Capello Rangwana, load planner and Musi Matlapa, technical performance analyst.
