“Health”: 124 new cases of coronavirus … and 13 deaths

The Ministry of Health and Population announced this Tuesday that 508 people recovering from the Corona virus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical attention and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, raising the total of those who recover from the virus to 96,094 cases to date.

Dr Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and official spokesperson for the ministry, stated that 124 new cases were registered that tested positive in laboratory tests for the virus, as part of the necessary surveillance procedures, investigation and examination carried out by the ministry in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 13 new cases.

Mujahid said that according to the World Health Organization recommendations issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.

“Mujahid” affirmed that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until today Tuesday is 103,079 cases, including 96,094 cured cases and 5,914 deaths.

The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all the provinces of the Republic, follows first-hand the situation regarding the “emerging corona” virus and takes all the necessary preventive measures against any virus or infectious disease, and the ministry also has assigned a number of media outlets to receive inquiries from citizens on the emerging coronavirus and infectious diseases. These include the hotline “105”, “15335” and the WhatsApp number “01553105105”, in addition to the application “Egypt Health”.
