A group of deputies from West Libya who defected from the Libyan parliament in the east of the country announced their rejection of the results of the talks taking place in Bouznika, pointing out that they are one-sided talks.
A group of West Libyan MPs who defected from the Libyan parliament in the east of the country announced their rejection of the results of the talks taking place in Bouznika, stating that they are unilateral talks and fall outside the purview of the United Nations, and that any decision issued by them does not matter.
According to a statement issued by members of the Parallel Council in Tripoli, they are out of these conversations, which they described as seeking to share personal gains and not override the interests of the homeland and the citizen. It is not intended to alleviate the suffering of the citizen and allow him to participate actively in the political process to ensure the success of the dialogue, and to adhere to the need for the referendum on the constitution.
The communiqué described the participants of the dialogue as “in search of incalculable adventures that skip the law and the supreme interests of the country and ignore the clear solution that is in the legislative and presidential elections.”
The head of the State Council, Khaled Al-Mishri, announced that there is an upcoming meeting to sign a preliminary agreement on sovereign positions next Thursday.
Al-Mashri added that no names have been submitted for the state positions, indicating that there is a crisis of confidence and we must close the gap of mistrust.
Al-Mishri rejected the process of assigning positions at the level of the three regions, stressing that what was done regarding the new presidential council is only an attempt to get through the current crisis, and that all sovereign institutions must be in Tripoli, rejecting that Sirte is the seat of the new government and that it must operate from Tripoli.
