The investigation of “Sita Letters” within the “Zero Distance” program revealed in its first part a disinformation network financed by the Emirates that works to spread false news about Qatar and its allies and is based in Cairo.
The program team was able to contact a former employee of the “Qatarileaks” website, which is presented as a leak site for the Qatari opposition.
However, the Zero Distance research team revealed that the UAE company DotDev began preparing the Qatarelix platform in late 2016, coinciding with the UAE’s move against Qatar in Washington.

The program team was able to penetrate one of these networks and reach those who run deceptive electronic platforms.
