Libyan sources told the Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper that the Libyan National Army and the Government of National Accord have reached a tentative agreement to turn Sirte into a demilitarized city and turn it into a temporary headquarters of the new authority, which will be is deliberating.
Sources indicated that the parties in conflict would withdraw from the outskirts of the city, moving away from the front lines, in addition to declaring a permanent truce between the army and the reconciliation forces.

Prior to that, Al-Arabiya sources revealed a Libyan agreement in Egypt to establish a joint military force that includes the army, police, and multiple special forces to protect Sirte and Al-Youfra and fully secure the oil sites.
This is in addition to the agreement that a Libyan committee will review all Turkish agreements signed with the reconciliation government, and an agreement to freeze the work of agreements signed between the reconciliation government and Turkey after reaching an agreement to form a new presidential council and a new government.
The Libyan army affirmed its adherence to the cancellation of military agreements and security cooperation with Turkey and to limit intelligence cooperation allowing the appointment of Turkish military figures within Libya, in addition to the agreement of the parliament and the army that no treaty Future will include bases or foreign forces in Libyan territory and that the new constitution stipulates. And do not enter into any military agreement without the approval of the Libyan army.
Thus, the head of the Libyan Parliament, Agila Saleh, confirmed that the meeting that took place in Cairo with the army commander, Khalifa Haftar, came to support a political solution and unify Libyan institutions.
In an exclusive interview with Al-Arabiya, Saleh indicated that he had agreed with Haftar in Cairo to support the Libyan armed forces, and that the army and parliament were on a path to resolve the conflict.
Saleh stressed that the “Cairo Declaration” is the closest thing to solving the Libyan crisis, and Saleh also stressed that once authority is established, the Libyan armed forces will merge and mercenaries will be expelled from the country.
Regarding the political path, Saleh indicated that Sirte will be the seat of the interim government until it is formed in accordance with a political agreement, adding that each Libyan region will appoint its representative in the Presidential Council, and it is not allowed that the head of the Council and the head of government are from a region.
