The Media Center of the Council of Ministers denied what was disseminated on social networks, about the circulation of oil packages that are not suitable for human consumption at points of sale.

The center said, in its weekly report to monitor the rumors and respond to them, on Friday, that the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has been contacted and completely denied these reports.

The Ministry affirmed that all supplies in consumer complexes, including oil, are completely safe and protected, and highlighted the continuation of intensive inspection and monitoring campaigns in all markets, while taking all legal measures in the event that they are detect violations.

As part of the Ministry’s desire to meet the needs of citizens, some basic products have been added to the ration cards. The number of products on the cards became 28 commodities instead of 21 commodities to be disbursed to cardholders, within the rationing decisions for the value of the subsidy assigned to each citizen restricted to ration cards, which is 50 pounds per person, as this was implemented from this September, and included new goods, for example. “A bag of salt and sulfur at a price of one pound each, and a bag of tahini at a price of 2 pounds, and some detergents.”

The Ministry asked all the media and users of social networks to investigate the veracity and objectivity in the publication of news and to communicate with the competent authorities to ensure before publishing information that is not based on any fact and generates confusion among citizens, and in the event that there are complaints related to the lack of basic food products in Governments, report them through the direct line of the Consumer Protection Agency 19588.
