The board of directors of the Al-Ahly club fixed an appointment Next Thursday is the deadline to announce the club’s position on Swiss coach Rene Weiler, the Red Genie.
Al-Ahly revealed on his official website that setting the date for next Thursday came after “Clarification of all matters and in light of the terms of the contract signed with the technical director.”
Al-Ahly’s leadership denied “Everything that is reported in the media about alternative nominations to succeed Fyler.”In its statement, the club referred “What is said is totally false and this matter has not been addressed.”
The club explained “The management’s decision regarding the current coach will be determined on the aforementioned date (next Thursday, October 1, 2020), and in a way that serves the interests of the club and preserves the progress of the local team and continuously.”
What happened?
The Swiss Rene Fyler caused a great outrage within the walls of the Red Castle, after he returned to his residence after the training session and did not meet with the representatives of the club, as expected.
Al-Ahly’s management made a series of offers to the Swiss manager to ensure his continuation until the end of the season, but they were rejected by the Swiss manager.
FilGoal.com was informed of the offers made by Al-Ahly to Filer, which were rejected and were as follows:
Fyler refused to travel now and return before October 1, insisting on leaving at the beginning of the month and returning on October 5 to Egypt.
Fyler turned down, as FilGoal.com learned, Al-Ahly’s offer to take his family on a private plane at the club’s expense.
Fyler did not agree to draft a written commitment to complete the season until the end of the CAF Champions League and the Egyptian Cup, and also refused to cancel the clause allowing the contract to be terminated from October 1 to 10.
Fyler asked Al-Ahly for periodic leaves of absence in each period and highlighted the need to obtain his salary at the beginning of each month and not on the fourth and fifth days, as happened after the Corona pandemic.
Fyler also asked Al-Ahly to get the league bonus immediately and not to wait for the end of the competition after the team won the title.
Fyler assumed leadership of Al-Ahly in the summer of 2019 for one season, before renewing his contract last June for a new season.
Fyler’s contract with Al-Ahly allows him to leave without penal conditions from October 1 to 10.
Al-Ahly had put in place that clause to persuade Fyler to continue until the end of the African Championship, which was scheduled to end on October 3.
Fyler has played 42 games with Al-Ahly since his arrival, winning 32, drawing 8 times and losing only twice.
Fyler won the Egyptian Super Cup and League with Al-Ahly, and reached the semi-finals of the African Champions League, and is supposed to play the price of the Egyptian Cup final against Arsenal next Wednesday.
Fyler did not lose to Al-Ahly, except for the Egypt Super title, which was held in February after Zamalek were crowned on penalties.
