Negotiations between Mahmoud Al-Khatib, chairman of the Al-Ahly Club board of directors, and the club’s planning committee, with Ahmed Yahya, the Swiss commercial agent, Rene Weiler, coach of the club’s first football team, reached a dead end as the Swiss coach rejected all attempts by Al-Ahly to retain him.
According to Al-Ahly sources, Fyler refused to meet with the club’s management and left after finishing training, leaving the negotiations in the hands of his agent, which angered al-Khatib and the planning committee.
Al-Khatib made several offers to the Swiss coach, to continue training Al-Ahly until the end of the African championship, including allowing him to travel today or tomorrow and return before the beginning of October, or to serve his entire family at the club’s expense, but he turned down all the offers.
Sources reported that the Al-Ahly administration is currently preparing alternative technical personnel, after Fyler’s intention not to return from Switzerland was made clear, due to his adherence to the trip in early October, the date on which he has right to terminate the contract without penalty conditions.
