Al-Taawon coach Patrice Carteron said the manager is responsible for what happens to the team, commenting on the 6-0 loss to Sharjah, noting that facing Al-Duhail in the Champions League is a final match. And that at the press conference.
“The coach is always responsible for everything that happens to the team,” Carteron said. “The loss is cruel and we hope it will motivate us to deliver a distinguished level and a positive outcome.”
“In football, it happens that you lose by a great score. The important thing is that you have a reaction and a motivation to compensate for that.”
“The Al-Duhail party represents a new challenge for all of us. If we can overcome the crisis, it will be great.”
And he added: “The match is a final cooperation match. There is no substitute to win and win the three points to qualify.”
He concluded: “We have to do everything possible to win despite the difficulty of the task. We have not given up hope yet and we have to stay in the team’s luck until the end.”
The cooperative position has become a constant after the 6-0 loss to Sharjah in the fifth round of the group stage of the AFC Champions League.
Al Taawon is preparing to face Al Duhail in the final round of the group stage on Thursday.
Al-Taawon ranks last in their group with 6 points, one point behind Persepolis and Sharjah, who are third and second respectively, and 3 points behind leader Al Duhail.
