Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek, decided to impose a penalty on Mahmoud Alaa, the defender of his team, for his celebration after his goal in Tanta.
Zamalek defeated Tanta 3-1 on matchday 29 of the Egyptian League.
Mortada Mansour said on Zamalek TV: “I apologize to the Tanta team and the people of Tanta for the inappropriate celebration of Mahmoud Alaa after the penalty kick in the match, and it will be counted because it is a shot not worthy of the Zamalek club, and when Ferjani Sassi did it in front of Mohamed El-Shenawi, he apologized to him. “
He added that “Reda Abdel-Al is a respectable coach and he played a good game according to the capabilities of his team.”
Regarding the new coach, he said: “The technical committee to select the Zamalek coach is meeting now at Amir’s house to filter the names and inform me of the name of the new coach and announce it soon.”
“The Football Association forces us to play every 3 days, and then we will play a match in the Egyptian Cup, then we will travel to Morocco to face Raja in the African Champions League,” he added. “He does all this until we come back from Morocco with a heavy defeat.”
“Ahmed Al-Adawi, the referee of the Tanta match, is very good, and we all saw when the referee committee brought in a good referee. They gave us two penalty kicks,” he added.
He added: “I accepted the apology from Ahmed Koshary, Aswan’s coach, after he issued a statement when one of his players did so during the Zamalek match.”
He concluded his statement: “I want to know a Z club that works for who and why a group of people wants to destroy all Egyptian clubs.”
