The Saudi Interior Ministry announced tonight, Tuesday, that the Kingdom will allow the Umrah to be held from next October 4.
The Saudi news agency “SPA” quoted an official source from the Interior Ministry as saying that, according to what has been received from the competent authorities regarding developments to deal with the emerging corona virus (Covid-19), and in response to the aspiration of many Muslims at home and abroad to perform Umrah and visiting rituals, and the concern of the leadership for the health and safety of the pilgrims of the Two Holy Mosques, as it was issued the approval to allow the performance of the Umrah and the visit gradually, taking the necessary health precautions,
It revealed the following arrangements and stages, which came at various points, including re-allowing the performance of Umrah, entering the Great Mosque, and visiting the honor kindergarten at the Prophet’s Mosque gradually according to four stages, the first of which is to allow the realization of Umrah for citizens and residents of the interior of the Kingdom, starting on Sunday, October 4. Next, 30% (6 thousand pilgrims / day) of the capacity that takes into account the sanitary precautionary measures of the Great Mosque.
The second phase of the Saudi plan allows the realization of Umrah, visitation and prayers for citizens and residents within the Kingdom, starting next Sunday, October 18, with 75% (15 thousand pilgrims / day, 40 thousand faithful / day) capacity that takes into account health precaution measures. For the Grand Mosque, as well as 75% of the absorptive capacity that takes into account the sanitary precautionary measures for the honorable kindergarten in the Prophet’s Mosque.
As for the third phase, it allows to carry out Umrah, visits and prayers for citizens and residents inside and outside the Kingdom, from Sunday, November 1, until the official announcement of the end of the Corona pandemic or the disappearance of the danger, 100% (20 thousand pilgrims / day, 60 thousand faithful / Today) of the absorption capacity that takes into account the sanitary precautionary measures of the Great Mosque, as well as 100% of the absorption capacity that takes into account the health precautionary measures of the Prophet’s Mosque, and the gradual arrival of pilgrims and visitors from outside the Kingdom, and from the countries that the Ministry of Health decides that there are no health risks in it related to the Pandemic of crown.
The fourth stage allows the performance of Umrah, visitation and prayers for citizens and residents inside and outside the Kingdom, at 100% of the natural capacity of the Great Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, when the competent authority decides to eliminate the risks of the pandemic.
According to the Saudi News Agency, the entry of pilgrims, worshipers and visitors is regulated through the application (Umrahna), which will be launched by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, with the aim of enforcing the sanitary regulations and controls approved by the Ministry of Health and the competent authorities.
