Al-Ahly manager Rene Fyler announced his roster to face “Egypt” in the 29th round of the Egyptian Premier League, amid several unexpected absences.
The usual one on the list was to exclude Saleh Jumaa for technical and physical reasons, after the Swiss coach asked him to work on weight loss so that he would be technically fit.
But what was unusual was the exclusion of the trio, Hamdi Fathy, Mohamed Magdi Afsha and Geraldo da Costa, despite their main participation in previous matches.
The correspondent for “Yallakora” reported that the excluded trio fell within the plan of coach Rene Fyler to rotate among the players and give rest as many breaths as possible.
The Al-Ahly coach intends to play the Moroccan Wydad match outside Egypt on October 17, with players who are not physically or mentally exhausted, by not exhausting them in the League matches that have been officially decided.
Despite that, Fyler excluded the young player Mohamed Shoukry for technical reasons, refusing to give him a chance in the next game with the absence imposed by the Swiss in the rotation.
Rotation or technical reasons will not be the only reasons for Al-Ahly’s absence, and the absence of the duo Mahmoud Metwally and Karim Nedved continues due to long-term injuries in rehabilitation and treatment.
While Mohamed Mahmoud is absent due to lack of technical preparation after recently recovering from his injury, and backup point guard Ali Lotfi is absent due to his infection with the Coronavirus.
