Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek Club, revealed that three new names had entered the circle of candidates to take over the technical direction of the white team, succeeding Frenchman Patrice Carteron, who pushed the penalty clause to depart for Saudi cooperation.
“I attended the meeting of the committee responsible for resolving the file of the new technical director, in the presence of Ahmed Mortada Mansour, Amir Mortada Mansour, Ismail Youssef and Farouk Jaafar,” Mortada said in a telephone statement to the channel “Zamalek”.
In the early hours of Wednesday, he added: “We are negotiating with three other foreign coaches with respectable backgrounds, together with Jaime Pacheco, Gabriel Calderón and the Italian coach (Paolo Tramizani).”
He continued: “The commission in charge of selecting the technical director is speaking with these three coaches to negotiate the contractual matters, and we will choose the best.”
The president of Zamalek concluded by saying: “We do not want to rush in line for the new manager. We want the manager who will lead us to the CAF Champions League, as well as taking over the leadership of the team in the upcoming 2020/2021 season.”
It is noteworthy that Zamalek’s negotiations with the Portuguese duo Gosfaldo Ferreira and the Swiss Christian Gross, who previously led the white team in the 2014/2015 and 2018/19 seasons, came to a halt and they managed to win titles with the club.
