Zamalek’s search for a new manager to succeed Patrice Carteron continues, and FilGoal.com reveals the name of the Italian manager, the candidate to lead the team with Argentine Gabriel Calderón.
As FilGoal.com knows, Paulo Tramizani, the Swiss coach of Sion, APOEL Nicosia, the former Cypriot, is the second candidate to lead Zamalek.
Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek, had previously announced that an Italian coach was on the list of candidates to compete with Calderón to coach the team.
“Now we are choosing between two other names. Calderón and another Italian coach,” Mortada said.
“The responsible committee will meet today at my house, and we will decide between the duo and then we will announce the name of the new coach.”
“The duo is distinguished and successful, and today we will decide on the name of the new Zamalek coach.”
Who is Paolo Tramizani?
The 50-year-old started his football career at Prato Club and used to play as a defender in Italy and moved from him to Cosenza Calcio and then Lucesi.
The most remarkable step in his career came when he joined Inter Milan in 1992, but only stayed at the Nerazzo for one season.
After that, he moved to Venice, Cesena and Piacenza, until his biggest move came in 1998, when he moved to the Italian League through Tottenham.
However, he didn’t participate much with Spears in two years, returning to Italy via Pestoise, then Piacenza again, and finally Atalanta until he retired in 2004.
Tramizani never wore the shirt of the Italian national team during his career, not even at different ages.
It shows in his football career that he did not stay in a team for more than three years.
His coaching career
Tramizani began his coaching career in 2011 when he worked as an assistant to fellow Italian Gianni De Biasi in training for the Albanian national team.
And with him, he helped Albania qualify for the first time in its history for Euro 2016.
In December 2016, Tramizani took an important step in his coaching career, having become the coach of the Swiss club Lugano, which only stayed with him for six months.
Then, in June 2017, she transferred to Sion’s Swiss coach before she was fired in October due to shaky results.
The Italian coach was unemployed for a year before moving to Cyprus to coach APOEL Nicosia and lead them to win the League title and qualify for the Cup final before defeat with two unanswered goals.
The following season, due to defeat in the Champions League playoffs, Tramisani was fired as APOEL manager.
He then signed for Livorno, which is in the second division of the Italian league, but was sacked after seven games for poor results.
In June this year, he returned to coach Sion, the Swiss, for a second term, before leaving in August, where he was succeeded by his compatriot, Fabio Grosso.
