The Saudi cooperation suffered a catastrophic defeat to its guest UAE Sharjah with six unanswered goals at the Education City Stadium in the Qatari capital Doha on matchday five of Group C of the AFC Champions League.

Sharjah scored all six of his goals from Wilton Soares in the 49th, 57th and 61st minutes, Saif Rashid in the 45th, Muhammad Abdul Basit in the 54th and Cayo in the 68th.

Sharjah raises its score to 7 points, even with Iranian Persepolis, and the cooperation balance is frozen at 6 points in last place in the group.

The loss is the biggest in Patrice Carteron’s coaching career, in just his second game with the collaboration.

Carteron’s biggest previous career defeat came when he coached Dijon in 2009 in the French League Cup against Sedan, 6-1.

It is also the second biggest loss in the cooperation’s history, after their 1-7 loss to Riyadh in the Saudi League in 1998.

And of course, it is the biggest Asian defeat for cooperation in its second continental participation.

The cooperation dispersed the group’s top spot with two consecutive losses under Carteron, dropping to last place.

Al-Taawon lost in the last match against Iran’s Persepolis 1-0 a few days ago, and will play Al-Duhail, Qatar, in the final round on September 24.
