The Zamalek club’s board of directors is discussing the position of the new coach, following the departure of former French coach Patrice Carteron, who left to train the Saudi cooperation.
A source within the Zamalek club told “Yallakora” that negotiations with Portugal’s Jesualdo Ferreira are suffering a slowdown as the Zamalek club’s board of directors rushes to sign the manager as soon as possible.
Although Ferreira did not resolve his decision to coach Zamalek, the club’s board of directors considers him the first option for the success of his previous experience with the team.
The source indicated that the name of Argentine Gabriel Calderón is still on the table among the candidates, and it is possible to appeal to him in case the agreement with Ferrera is not completed.
The source added: “Two new names were presented to the Zamalek board of directors by one of the agents, and their resumes are being discussed and negotiated with them regarding financial compensation, before reaching the final step in negotiations with one of them”.
The source pointed out that the coaches are the Argentine Aruabarina and the Brazilian Shamouska.
The source noted that the name of Serbian Milutin Seridovic “Micho” was excluded from the candidates to coach the team.
Regarding the reports on the entry of Uruguayan José Carreño, the source explained that he is completely out of the picture and no negotiations have been held with him, despite the fact that his name was presented among the candidates.
The Zamalek channel reported that Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek, will announce in a few hours a global technical director to train the team.
Zamalek will face Tanta next Tuesday on matchday 29 of the league, where Zamalek and the league are located with 55 points.
Zamalek face Moroccan team Raja in the semi-finals of the Champions League, consecutively on October 17 and back on October 23.
