Reopening of oil fields
This comes after the Libyan National Army announced, through its spokesman Ahmed Al-Mismari, on Friday its support for Maitiq in representing western Libya and the formation of a joint technical committee to monitor Libyan oil revenues.
Al-Mesmari said during a press conference: “We opened a dialogue with representatives of the Libyan tribes and various regions with the participation of Maitiq, and we reached an agreement on the reopening of the oil fields.”
He added: “We have agreed to resume oil production in all Libyan regions,” indicating that some militias will respond harshly and put pressure on the Central Bank.
He explained that some of the corrupt are trying to exploit the crisis of the Libyan people, emphasizing: “We are working to prevent Turkey from benefiting from the money of the Libyans.”
To that, he emphasized, “we have agreed to adopt a unified exchange rate for the dollar in Libya, and open compensation between banks in all regions of the country.”
“There is no place for settlers”
It is noteworthy that after 9 months of closure, the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Army, Khalifa Haftar, announced the approval of the reopening of the oil fields and the resumption of exports, provided that guarantees are provided for the fair distribution of their financial income, and not used to support and finance terrorism or be exposed to theft and looting.
This is how it came in a speech by Haftar on Friday to the Libyans, in which he said that the General Command of the Army does not hesitate to make concessions whenever they are in the interest of the Libyans, with the aim of avoiding a further deterioration of the situation. economic in the country.
In addition, he emphasized that “the profits paid by our soldiers are not neglected, and there is no place for the colonizers.” He went on to say: “We will fight to preserve Libya’s unity and we will not hesitate to make a concession with complete confidence and satisfaction without that.”
It is noteworthy that oil production in Libya, whose income flows to the accounts of the Central Bank in the capital Tripoli, has come to a sharp halt since January 18, resulting in a loss of revenue of up to 9 billion and 600 million dollars, according to the latest data from the National Petroleum Corporation two weeks ago.
