Al-Ahly achieves fourth-largest series coronation in history

Al-Ahly achieved the fourth-largest consecutive series in the league championship in club history, after he managed to win the fifth consecutive championship by losing Zamalek to Aswan in the 28th round of the Egyptian league.

Al-Ahly made sure that no team could reach the 72 points the team currently owns as Zamalek stopped at 52 points (3 points were deducted due to the withdrawal against Al-Ahly) and only 6 games remain.

Al-Ahly won the league title for the 42nd time in its history, and this is the fourth-largest consecutive series of coronations, after winning the title nine times in a row, then eight and seven times.

Al-Ahly were able to win in a row on many occasions, otherwise they had won the league title 4 times in a row during the period 1978-1979 to 1981-1982, and also won 3 times in a row during the period 1974-1975 until 1976-1977 .

The only consecutive coronation series that Al-Ahly failed to achieve, from No. 2 to 9 consecutive championships, is No. 6.

Al-Ahly’s largest series of coronations is as follows:

Al-Ahly won the league title 9 consecutive times, in the first 9 seasons of the competition, during the period 1948-1949 and until 1958-1959.

Al-Ahly won the league title 8 times in a row during the period 2004-2005 until 2013-2014.

Al-Ahly won the league title 7 times in a row during the period from 1993-1994 to 1999-2000.

Al-Ahly won the league title 5 times in a row during the period from 2015-2016 so far.
