Armant Specialist Hospital, southwest of Luxor, witnessed the rare birth of a boy with a slit on his neck. Dr Mohamed Ezz El-Din, head of the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology department, explained that a cesarean section was performed on a woman suffering from fetal waters and pre-eclampsia.
And tests were ordered and a place of care was prepared for the mother for an immediate cesarean section. “Ezz El-Din” added that after the birth, the doctor who performed the operation, Dr. Muhammad Shukri, noticed cracks in the child’s skin, and he was sent to the nursery for examination and diagnosis.
The condition was found to suffer from cracked skin syndrome and multiple malformations. The head of the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology service confirmed that this case had not occurred before and is a rare case, which can often occur as a consequence of the mother taking certain medications which in turn lead to the appearance of deformities in the child, especially in early pregnancy, as the child was born with cracks in the skin that increase with movement, resulting in wounds, some of which are more recent. A cut on the neck resembles a murder case. Noting that the child had breathed the last 24 hours after her birth.
