The deal is close to being finalized, yet José Mourinho does not want to talk about it. Here we talk about the Welshman Gareth Bale about to wear the Tottenham shirt again.
Gareth Bale is preparing to be in England on Friday to undergo medical examinations and sign contracts for his return to Tottenham from Real Madrid, according to all reliable reports.
Mourinho, after winning the first day of the Europa League qualifiers, refused to talk about Gareth Bale.
Mourinho said, “Bill? I can’t comment now.”
He added in his statements during the press conference: “I will not comment permanently until I am told that Bale has become a Tottenham player and then I will speak.”
He explained: “I have to respect that he is a Real Madrid player until now, so I am not going to talk about him.”
English Tottenham Hotspur defeated host Lokomotiv Plovdiv, Bulgaria, with two goals to one in the first round of the European League qualifiers. (See details)
Mourinho answered a question (Did you like the way Lokomotiv Plovdiv plays?) He said, “I liked the way they played when I saw them, but today they didn’t play like they used to.”
He explained: “Today they played with five defenders, whereas in the Bulgarian league the plan is closer to three defenders, because the backs of the flanks are always in the front as wings and not as defenders.”
“The Bulgarian team played with a lot of pressure, but today things were difficult for them. They just defended and trusted the apostates,” he continued.
“I love diligence. Small teams fight the best. I am sorry there are no fans in the stands today.”
He explained: “Playing Tottenham in Bulgaria doesn’t happen every day, so I am very sorry for the fans in Bulgaria for not being in the stands today.”
This victory is José Mourinho’s 100th as a coach in European competitions.
The Portuguese has won 30 games with Chelsea, 24 with Real Madrid, 18 with Manchester United, 16 with Porto, 10 with Inter Milan and 2 with Tottenham.
