Samir said in a statement Thursday that the agency received responses from a large number of international and private schools and universities expressing their full commitment to the Council’s decision and announcing to parents about the implementation mechanism and returning the amount of according to the decision of the Board of Directors, and that the agency followed the parents and those who confirmed the validity of what the institutions decided. The educational establishes that financial arrangements have been made for the cases of students transferred to higher grades and the value is returned in cash for students whose relationship with the schools has ended.
The agency director praised the position of educational institutions committed to decisions and laws based on their national role as educational institutions in the first place and not for profit, but working to instill values and morals in the hearts of young people, the most important of which is respect for the principle of the rule of law.
Samir asked the rest of the educational institutions and student transportation service providers to adhere to the latest decision of the board of directors and warn them that the lack of implementation of the decision of the council is a violation of articles 25 and 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, and the penalty ranges from £ 20,000 to £ 1 million.
It should be noted that the Board of Directors of the Consumer Protection Agency had issued its Resolution No. 155/1 on Tuesday 25/8/2020 to oblige all providers of educational services (schools, universities, institutes), transportation institutions or trips of all kinds that provide student transportation services by charging subscriptions. , Return 25% of the total expenses of the transport service contracted during the last academic year 2019/2020 deducting that value from the expenses of the new academic year 2020/2021 for students of the transportation years that will continue their relationship with the institution educational institution over the next year, such as for students whose relationship with the educational institution ended during the last academic year 2019/2020, as the decision forced the educational institution to reimburse (25% of the transportation service fees) within 30 days from the date the student or their tutor submits a request to the institution for the refund of that amount.
