Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club, was surprised by the departure of white coach Patrice Carteron.

Mortada Mansour said on Zamalek TV: “For the coach to leave at this time and in this way, there is suspicion of conspiracy in that.”

“Zamalek was very tolerant of Carteron in training and in some results, and in the end he left the club in this disrespectful way.”

“The club, which will announce the contract with Carteron, must resist the reaction of Mortada Mansour,” he added angrily.

“Zamalek is bigger than Carteron and bigger than the club he goes to.”

He emphasized that “I hold the Quintet Committee responsible for what happened with Carteron’s departure, and it is my responsibility that Fyler leaves soon.”

He concluded his remarks: “The new foreign technical director, upon his arrival in Cairo, will immediately train his assistant technical staff.”

French coach Carteron left Zamalek after informing the club’s management of his wish not to continue with the team. (See details)

Zamalek is preparing to face Aswan next Friday in the 28th round of the league.

This is not the first time that Tariq Yahya will manage Zamalek from the coach’s seat, having previously led the team in 2017.

After that, he took over as assistant coach on Nebusha Jovovich’s coaching staff.

Tariq Yahya had technically led Zamalek with Ayman Abdel Aziz during the current season after Micho’s departure and before Carteron’s arrival.
