Patrice Carteron, the former Zamalek coach, revealed the scenes of his departure as coach of the white team.

“I did not decide to leave Zamalek for the money, as some say,” Carteron said in a session with Mortada Mansour through the club’s channel.

He added: “I have been studying my decision to leave Zamalek for some time, and when I made the decision, it became irreversible.”

He concluded his words: “The decision to leave Zamalek was not easy for me, but Zamalek has a month ahead to prepare well for the African Championship.”

French coach Carteron left Zamalek after informing the club’s management of his wish not to continue with the team. (See details)

Zamalek is preparing to face Aswan next Friday in the 28th round of the league.

This is not the first time that Tariq Yahya will manage Zamalek from the coach’s seat, having previously led the team in 2017.

After that, he took over as assistant coach on Nebusha Jovovich’s coaching staff.

Tariq Yahya had technically led Zamalek with Ayman Abdel Aziz during the current season after Micho’s departure and before Carteron’s arrival.
