Arsenal have extended their contract with their Gabonese striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, to remain inside the “Emirates” stadium until the summer of 2023.
Various speculations had linked the future of Gabonese Aubameyang with a move to Barcelona, Spain, or Inter Milan, Italy.
Aubameyang’s contract at the end of the current season in June 2021, but the London club extended the contract to expire in 2023.
The Gabonese striker recently won two championships with Arsenal, the first being the FA Cup at the expense of Chelsea and then the Community Shield at the expense of Liverpool with penalties.
“Aoba” signed for Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 in a deal worth € 63.7 million.
Since joining the Janners, Aubameyang has participated in 111 games and scored 72 goals in them, proving to everyone that it is a successful contract for the London red team.
Press reports indicated that the Gabonese star will receive a weekly salary of £ 250,000 for the remaining three years of his contract.
Arsenal announced the extension of Gabonese Aubameyang’s contract by posting a live video of the player at the Emirates Stadium as he spoke to Gunners legend Ian Wright to celebrate his contract renewal.
The Gabonese striker contributed to Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Fulham in the first round of the new Premiership, where he scored a double in the game that featured mainly Egyptian star Mohamed El-Niny.
Aubameyang won the Premier League scorer title in the 2018/2019 preseason with 22 goals, equal to Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
