Imprisonment of 4 police officers and release of one officer for the murder of the “Australian” (details of the investigation)

“Al-Masry Al-Youm” obtained the details of the prosecution’s investigations with a police officer and 4 police secretaries in the case of the murder of the “Australian” inside the Munib Police Station, which ended with a decision by the Prosecutor’s Office to arrest 4 police secretaries and release the officer on financial bail. The officer said during the investigations that he had received notification of a dispute in Al-Madbah Street, then he went to the place of notification and detained the parties in the fight, and the deceased had wounds and abrasions from the effects of the fight, and ordered the police secretaries to take the defendant to the headquarters of the police station, and then left the police station, while the police secretaries said they took the defendant into custody and were surprised by the shouting and contemplation of the victim, for what they called an ambulance. Except he was dead.

The victim’s family had reported that their son had objected to “Tandeh” being taken off the street, for which the police officers arrested, detained and beat him to death.

The Prosecution decided to release the officer on £ 5,000 bail and detain 4 police secretaries pending investigation of his accusations of killing young Australian Islam in Al-Munib.

Investigations by the Prosecutor’s Office revealed that the surveillance cameras reported that the victim had entered the police station alive, and the cameras recorded enemies of the police secretaries about the victim during his detention, and the evidence indicated that the medical reports received by the Prosecutor’s Office indicated that they were not logical with the perception of the police secretaries during the investigations.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office received a notification from the police that there had been a dispute between two parties (four by two) with stones, knives and tools, on Al Madbah street, in Al Munib district, Giza governorate. As a result, injuries occurred between the two groups and the death of one of them. The mother and sister of the deceased accused the policemen who detained him in the dispute of killing him.

Consequently, the “Public Ministry” went to the scene of the accident to inspect it and question the witnesses to the incident. He approached five witnesses to it and seized the contents of the recording of the surveillance cameras installed in the shops with views of the side of the incident. The Public Ministry also examined the body of the deceased at the “Madre de Egipcios” hospital and found abrasions in separate places on her body.

The “Public Ministry” had appointed a “forensic doctor” to carry out an autopsy on the corpse of the deceased, indicating the cause of death, how it occurred and if it was planned according to the filming contained in the statements of the witnesses and the disputes in investigations, which are being completed, and then announced its completion.
