The British newspaper “Express” has sparked controversy over Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman’s desire to sign Liverpool England winger Mohamed Salah from Egypt.
The newspaper reported that Liverpool may fight a battle to keep Salah within the walls of the “Anfield” stadium, after the Egyptian “pharaoh” entered the circle of interests of the Dutch coach, who is considering a project to reform the Catalan club and return it to its former glories.
Koeman is determined to make a surprise signing, and a friend of the Barça coach revealed that the Dutchman wants Mohamed Salah and not Sadio Mane in Barcelona.
“I know Koeman wants it, and I know Salah wants to leave,” Chjak Swart, a former Dutch international player, told voetbalzone.nl.
When pressed to reveal the source of his information, Swart added: “I can’t, I won’t go into other details, but believe me I know.”

The newspaper explains that with Lionel Messi apparently remaining, it will be very difficult for Barcelona to close a deal the size of Salah, given the current economic crisis caused by the Corona pandemic.
Salah made his first Premier League appearance for Liverpool on Saturday, scoring three goals in the ‘Reds’ difficult win over Leeds United (4-3) in the competition’s first round.
