A painful blow suffered by the Saudi team Al Hilal after it was confirmed that five of their players, in addition to the soccer coach, were infected with the Corona virus.
The Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiah revealed that Muhammad Al-Barik, Salman Al-Faraj, Muhammad Al-Waked, Saleh Al-Shehri, Hamad Al-Abdan and Saud Kariri, the football director, were infected with the Corona virus.
Saudi Hilal arrived today in the Qatari capital, Doha, to play the rest of the group stage matches of the West Asia Division of the Asian Champions League, which the Saudi leader holds the title.
The Asian Football Confederation announced in a statement today that five Al Hilal players, as well as an administrative member and a player from the Qatari Al-Duhail club, had been infected with the Corona virus.
Al Hilal players infected with Corona will undergo a second scan to confirm the implementation of the AFC protocol, and have been isolated in a separate role at the hotel residence in Qatar.
Al-Hilal will meet next Monday with Pakhtakor from Uzbekistan, after the tournament was suspended for up to 6 months due to the Corona pandemic.
The blue leader is second in Group Two, behind Pakhtor, who leads on goal difference.
Hilal is striving to win the championship this year for the second in a row and a double after winning the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Professional Cup League a few days ago, for the 16th time in its history in the Saudi League.
Al-Hilal won the title of the last edition of the AFC Champions League after defeating three unanswered goals, in the result of the two-game final matches.
