Ahmed Hossam “Mido”, a former Zamalek player and coach, believes the Al-Ahly club has unspoken reasons behind their agreement to postpone the semi-final matches of the CAF Champions League.

Al-Ahly had announced that it welcomed the African Football Confederation’s proposal to postpone the matches of the Champions League and the Confederation Semifinal if there was a health reason in Morocco for the postponement.

“Al-Ahly has other reasons for agreeing to postpone the African semi-final matches in addition to the Corona cases in Morocco,” Mido said in televised remarks on the Al-Nahar satellite channel.

He added: “Like the team’s injuries and Al-Ahly’s desire to win the league championship before facing Wydad.”

He continued: “Each team looks for its own interest, and Zamalek and Pyramids want to play the games early because of the preparedness that dominates the players of both teams during that period.”

He concluded: “The Club Committee recommended postponing the semi-final matches of the Champions League, and the decision will be officially announced next Thursday.”

Zamalek and Pyramids are reported to have announced their refusal to postpone the semi-final matches of the Champions League and the Confederacy.
