In another context, a consultant for the World Health Organization said Monday that the organization is in talks with India to join the global vaccine supply program known as “Kovacs.”
“India is definitely eligible, like the rest of the world, to participate in Kovacs. Discussions are underway in this regard,” Bruce Elward said at a press conference in Geneva. “We will welcome the participation of India … India has a lot of experience” in this field, he added.

On Sunday, the chief executive of Chinese biotech company Sinovac said that about 90% of the company’s employees and their families had taken an experimental vaccine developed as part of the country’s emergency use program.
