Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood and fellow Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden have been banned from England’s national team camp for disciplinary reasons while at the team’s residence in Iceland.
According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, the pair will not travel with the delegation from England to Danish lands, after it was found that they were involved in accompanying two girls to their room in the hotel residence, after the confrontation that ended with the English team beating Iceland with a clean goal, in the competitions of the League of Nations in Europe.
The duo fought their first international clash with the England jersey, but were prevented from continuing the journey, and were also involved in violating health protocol related to preventing the spread of the new Corona virus.
Icelandic media reviewed some video clips showing players violating sanitary isolation rules, as one of the two girls accompanying Greenwood and two delegations in his room was captured, and the “Daily Mail” indicated that the English Association of Fútbol opened an urgent investigation into the incident.
Foden, 20, was a key player in coach Gareth Southgate’s lineup against Iceland, while Greenwood, 18, came in as a substitute in the 78th minute.
