The gang rape case at Egypt’s Fairmont hotel took a new turn with the circulation of the names of famous people suspected of being involved in the case, which has come to the fore again.

In one of the novelties of the case, an Egyptian lawyer sued the Attorney General. With the investigation of the Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe, the Egyptian artist Tamer Hosni, the Lebanese artist Rami Aisha, the popular Egyptian singer Bossi, the popular singer Mahmoud Laithi, as well as the dancer Safinaz.

Lawyer Ahmed Mahran said he is also asking the hotel manager and current and former employees for accountability.

He added: “There are some fictitious art parties that were held at this hotel with the aim of luring and misleading victims into forcing them to participate in group sex crimes.”

For her part, Lebanese actress Haifa Wehbe responded by putting her name on the case. When attacking an Egyptian journalist, he contacted her via “WhatsApp” and asked her for an official comment on what was attributed to her.

Haifa Wehbe told the newspaper: “If it weren’t out of respect, I was conscious of myself not to stain my literature, I would have told you that my soul is from here, oh boots.”

And after the journalist repeated her question, Haifa responded again saying: “We are going from here, and I am aware of following me again like you, and the lack of taste has reached you in the dirtiest degrees.”

The details of the incident date back to 2014, when a party was held inside the “Fairmont” hotel and a group of young people attracted a girl. They then drugged her with a drink to make her lose consciousness, took her to a hotel room and took turns raping her, then the perpetrators wrote their initials on her body. And they photographed it.

The Egyptian prosecutor’s office ordered the detention of three defendants for four days. Among them (Ahmed Al-Ganzouri and Nazli Mustafa Karim, the daughter of the artist Noha Al-Amrousi). Three others were released on financial bail and another for security at their place of residence. And that is pending investigation in the case.

In recent days, a new video has been released. Three girls appear, including Nazli Mustafa, daughter of artist Noha Al-Amrousi, and a young man who were at the group concert. He had been photographed prior to the reported incident.

The clip showed the girls and their friend in an obscene position in bed calling for another friend to come to the hotel to celebrate with them. A girl among them made a wanton movement with her hand.
