Ramadan Sobhi, the Huddersfield player, appeared in the Pyramids jersey in an image that circulated on social media, as some confirmed it was taken from inside Air Defense Stadium on Wednesday.
Ramadan Sobhi had refused to continue with the Al-Ahly club, to return to his English team, Huddersfield, after completing his loan to the Red Castle, while the Al-Ahly club announced in an official statement that the player wanted to move to Pyramids .
The text of Al-Ahly’s statement was as follows: “The club began a series of negotiations with Huddersfield to buy Ramadan Sobhi since last April, after its approval and expressing its desire to continue within the ranks of Al-Ahly. in a session he held with Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of the club, unless the player received a European offer that fulfills his ambitions.
He continued: “Negotiations with the English club initially took a while due to the lack of clarity regarding the return of sporting activity worldwide due to the Corona pandemic.”
And he continued: “But in the last period, the Al-Ahly club intensified its negotiations and made a progressive economic offer that reached 2.5 million pounds, but the English club asked for an increase in the amount to three million two hundred and fifty thousand pounds”.
He continued: ‘Since Al-Ahly adheres to the continuation of Ramadan Sobhi within their ranks, he accepted the amount and sent his written approval to Huddersfield, then Al-Ahly received approval from the English club to sell Ramadan Sobhi for the amount indicated.
He added: “This step had been preceded by a session that brought together Amir Tawfiq, director of contracts with the player, and his economic rights were agreed upon, but after Al-Ahly informed Ramadan Sobhi of the written approval of his purchase of Huddersfield, the player requested, in coordination with his agent, Nader Shawky, to delay the completion of his transfer to Al-Ahly. Two days because he received offers from other clubs and needs time to think.
He continued: “Consequently, the Al-Ahly club asked Huddersfield in an official letter to continue its approval which it sent to Al-Ahly to sell Ramadan Sobhi for a period of two days until the player decided his position, but when communicating yesterday with Ramadan Sobhi on behalf of Amir Tawfiq, the player requested a joint vision with his agent for another term. Until next Saturday, to deepen the study of the offers it received ”.
He explained: “Considering the player’s strong desire to return to European professionalism, especially since it is owned by the Huddersfield Club and not the Al-Ahly Club, and his need for time to study the offers he received, and to ensure stability of the Al-Ahly team and the clarity of vision in front of its technical director, and in the light of the successive official ties at the local level and Africa ”.
He concluded: “The Al-Ahly club decided to give Ramadan Sobhi the opportunity to settle his position with his Huddersfield club to determine his next assignment within the timeframe he requested. However, Amir Tawfiq, Director of Contracts, received a call from the player recently informing him that he does not want to play for Al-Ahly and will be moving to the Pyramids Club. Therefore, Ramadan Sobhi was left out of the technical accounts of the Al-Ahly team.
In a great surprise, the leaders of the UAE club Al-Jazeera opened the line of negotiations with Ramadan Sobhi, to obtain his services during the next season to support their ranks.
Al Jazeera’s negotiations with the United Arab Emirates with Huddersfield and Ramadan Sobhi eventually won over the player’s services, as they offered an amount close to £ 5 million to his English club in exchange for his services.
At that time, Ramadan Sobhi will approach two million dollars a season with the Emirati island.
A source close to Ramadan confirmed that the player has not yet definitively decided on his position and is still weighing the offers available to him before finalizing his decision, as his priority is joining Pyramids.
It has not been officially announced until the moment when an agreement has been reached between Huddersfield and Pyramids, but the image may confirm their transfer to the club and indicate that the official announcement may arrive in a few hours.
