The “Monitoring and Analysis Unit in the Al Bayan Department of the Attorney General’s Office” found that complaints circulated on social media about the harassment of a cook working in an orphanage (The New Woman’s Foundation) – in Old Egypt – with girls who resided there. When presenting the matter to the Public Ministry, she ordered an urgent investigation of the fact.
The Prosecutor’s Office asked a specialist from the “Cairo Social Affairs Directorate” who testified that she was assigned to examine what was monitored on social media about the incident. And that the two directors of the house had been informed of this, and had just fired the cook, and were required to conduct an administrative investigation of the incident and report it to the police.
When asking the “Public Ministry” of the two victims – one of them is eleven years old and the second fourteen – they testified that the defendant had attacked them several times in exchange for presenting them a sum of money each time to keep silent about their actions, and who did not resist him each time out of fear of him. However, they informed their friends, who are staying in the shelter, about the incident, and who reported it to the supervisors. Two social workers from the shelter confirmed that they knew from the victims of the incident.
The “Public Ministry” had asked a specialist about the “Child Care Line” and delivered to the “Public Ministry” a report in which the victim acknowledged that more than one accused cook had been subjected to sexual abuse. time, and that none of the home supervisors did not help the defendant with this while the latter exploded. When they were absent from the children, he committed his crime.
The “Public Ministry” went to the home and listened to the testimonies of six girls residing there, who confirmed their knowledge of the victims of the defendant’s assault, and that when one of them found out, they informed another, so they published the incident on social media on August 27 this year.
The “Public Ministry” had ordered the arrest of the accused for interrogation, who denied what was attributed to him in the investigations, claiming that he did not sexually assault the victims, and that he hugged and kissed them on the head in good faith while they asked for money .
The Public Ministry presented the victims to the Legal Medicine Authority for them to sign forensic medical examinations, indicating the degree of exposure to sexual assaults or not. The Public Ministry asked the two directors of the house to question them, and the investigations are being completed.
