“Educational Hospitals”: 19 members of the Al-Matareya Hospital medical staff were injured by “Corona”

The General Authority of Hospitals and Educational Institutes issued on Wednesday a statement of clarification on the injuries of the medical and administrative personnel of the Al-Matareya Teaching Hospital.

The commission indicated that the number of infections so far is 19 positive cases out of a total of 54 samples, noting that the infection was transmitted to medical and administrative personnel by a nurse whose protection died from infection with the Corona virus and was in contact with him.

The authority added that work is regular within the hospital, and as soon as any infection appears, infection control, sterilization and complete disinfection protocols are in place. The hospital’s infection control department follows up and reports to the hospital’s crisis control committee 24 hours a day.

The authority noted that all contacts of the medical team and workers were counted, a survey and analysis was conducted for them, and we are expecting other results in the next few hours.

The Ministry of Health and Population announced on Wednesday that 160 people infected with the Corona virus had been expelled from isolation and quarantine hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical attention and recovering according to the guidelines of the World Organization of the Health, which brings the total number of people recovering from the virus to 2,486 cases to date.

Dr. Khaled Mujahid, Advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, said the number of cases whose laboratory results turned from positive to negative for the Corona virus (Covid-19) increased 2980 cases, including 2486 recoveries.

He added that 338 new cases were positive for laboratory analysis of the virus, as part of the surveillance and investigation procedures carried out by the Ministry in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization, indicating the death of 12 new cases. .

“Mujahid” said that all registered HIV positive cases in isolation and quarantine hospitals are subject to medical care, according to guidelines from the World Health Organization.

“Mujahid” stated that the total number recorded in Egypt with the new Corona virus as of Wednesday is 10,431 cases, including 2,486 cases that have been cured and discharged from isolation and quarantine hospitals, and 556 deaths.

The Ministry of Health and Population continues to increase its preparations in all provinces, follows the situation with respect to the “emerging crown” virus first hand and takes all necessary precautions against any virus or infectious disease, since the direct line has been assigned “105” and “15335” to receive inquiries from citizens about an emerging Corona virus and infectious diseases.
