Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi led Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi’s re-election as head of the Counter-Terrorism Service.
Former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi fired al-Saadi from his post last September, and protesters emerged after that, raising slogans demanding his return to office.
Observers at the time considered that the decision to remove leader Abdul Wahab al-Saadi was based on pressure from leaders close to Iran to eliminate personalities and leaders who are inconsistent with their political and military vision in the anti-terrorist apparatus.
Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi’s decision to exclude anti-terrorist forces commander Lieutenant General Abdul Wahab al-Saadi, who played a major role in the battles against ISIS, angered the country, amid question marks on the reasons for the decision.
Abdul-Wahab Abdul-Zahra, a client of Al-Sa’di, was born in the city of Al-Sadr in Baghdad in 1963, and his name appeared long after 2014 during the ISIS invasion of various lands in the Iraqi provinces, namely, Anbar, Nineveh, Salahuddin, and Kirkuk.
Al-Saadi, who received a degree in Physical Education, graduated from the Iraqi Military College in 1985.
He entered Staff College and graduated in 1996 with the rank of Major Corner, and was one of the top ten.
He then entered Command College, and when he reached the rank of Colonel Corner, he entered War College to graduate with a war officer, and continued his military studies until he completed a master’s degree in military science and became a teacher at Iraqi Staff College. .
He also participated in liberation battles in Ramadi, Salah al-Din, Mosul, and others.
