Member of the Legislative Committee in Parliament, “Khaled Mashhour”, submitted a request to inform the Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. “Tariq Shawqi”, about the growing phenomenon of cheating on exams that are carried out on students of transport at the secondary level, despite the fact that the exams are electronic, which is the system that the Ministry is following as a new educational system in Egypt, which is a system to face the emerging epidemic of the Corona virus after it stop school.
He moved out of Parliament to order the minister to review the electronic exams.
He emphasized that the main problem is electronic fraud, since fraud has increased significantly in recent years and that the exam was carried out on paper, because the student deals with technology that allows misleading a large number of sources, since the Students have the ability to photograph and filter exam questions to get answers from their colleagues or teachers.
A member of the Parliament’s Legislative Committee confirmed that students have been able to implement methods of collective fraud, as collective fraud has become YouTube and Telegram platforms, WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms, allowing them to great openness to get to the answers to the exams and transfer them, which makes the students absent from their real level. In the subjects, and therefore, they will not be able to know their weaknesses in the subjects and will try to find solutions for them.
He pointed out that the cheating problem is an educational catastrophe that requires the reform of the entire educational system, and that some unconventional methods must be followed to place the exams, in order to assess the abilities of all students, and this will be done only if the pattern of memorization and memorization is avoided, and this will lead to avoiding cases of cheating, as it should be. It established rules that guarantee to reduce all instances of fraud and guarantee the credibility and knowledge of students of their educational and intellectual capacities, and continued, emphasizing that there are some teachers who reject the new educational system, and are supporting the facilitation of cases of fraud and looking to fail this system.
A member of Parliament’s Legislative Committee added that what happened from the cheating attempts is strong evidence of a flaw in some aspects of the e-learning system, so he asked Dr. “Tariq Shawqi” to review this idea. again and take advantage of the errors, to try to avoid any defect in the new system.
