CAF announces the postponement of the final of the CAF Champions League

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has decided to postpone the final matches of the CAF Champions League and the Confederation Cup until further notice, in light of the crisis of the emerging Corona virus (Covid-19).

Kave said in an official statement released today, Saturday, that in light of growing concerns and the changing nature of the Covid-19 virus, and amid an embargo in most countries, the emergency committee decided to postpone the parties until new notification.

He added that the new dates will be announced later, highlighting that he is closely monitoring the situation and will work with the relevant authorities, including the World Health Organization, on the impact of the epidemic on the continent.

Al-Ahly will play Moroccan Wydad and Zamalek against Moroccan Raja in the CAF Champions League semi-finals, while the Pyramids will face the Guinea Houria champions in the Confederation semi-finals.

The final match for the Confederation was scheduled for next May 24 at the Prince Moulay Abd Allah Stadium in Morocco, and the final of the Champions League on the 29th of the same month in Douala, Cameroon.

It is reported that it was decided to postpone the semifinal matches of the two competitions earlier, after it was specified for round trips between the first and third of May, and between the eighth and tenth of the same month.
