Imad Miteb, the player for Al-Ahly and the former Egypt national team, confirmed that the offer made by the administration of Hossam Ashour’s Red Castle did not happen to him before his retirement.

Meteb said in remarks on the Nogoum FM radio station that he does not blame Ahmed Fathi for his departure from Al-Ahly, pointing out that he thought far from emotions as Abdullah Al-Saeed, the current player of the Pyramids.

Miteb said: “What Al-Ahly presented to Hussam Ashour is very special, because it did not happen to me or any other player, and this is a wonderful thing that the player should appreciate.”

He continued: “Al-Ahly dealt with Ashour professionally, but each player must determine what they want, do they want to play? Do they want money? Do they want the future? Then they will know how to make their decision.”

He added: “If I were the place of Hossam Ashour, then, like a weary baptism, I would have withdrawn and accepted Al-Ahly’s offer.”

He explained: “There are players who don’t deal with emotions, like Abdullah Al-Saeed and Ahmed Fathi, they do everything they have at their club and then they go to another club and do the same thing.”

He added: “Each player is the one who decides his decision, I cannot tell any player that he was wrong because of a decision, but when they put me in the same position I decided to retire at that time.”

He concluded: “I spoke to Ahmad Fathi and asked him to end his life in Al-Ahly, but I do not know what happened after this call, but I cannot blame him for anything.”
