Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva confirmed that his teammates suffer from not choosing to win the Premier League Player of the Year award against Liverpool.
Silva said in his speech via a direct clip on the Instagram website, that for several seasons Liverpool’s Egyptian Mohamed Salah was favored over Manchester City game creator Kevin de Bruyne, despite his distinguished performance, as described.
“I hope this is not a bad example and the fans don’t take it badly, but I always think about the past three seasons and what is happening between Manchester City and Liverpool,” said the Manchester City player.
He continued: “Three seasons ago we won the league title and Liverpool came 30 points late, at which point Kevin de Bruyne had an incredible season, but Mohamed Salah scored many goals.”
He added: “Salah is a great player and I really like him. They preferred De Bruyne and gave him the award for best player in England, which also happened last season.”
And Abizaid: “Last season, Raheem Sterling was in great shape, as was Virgil van Dyck, and he was awarded the Liverpool player award, which will be repeated this season also with De Bruyne, who offers another great season.”
He concluded: “We are behind Liverpool in the league standings, and it may be one of their players to win the award this season because they can be league champions.”
